About Me

I am a freelance journalist and copywriter. I worked for six years at Radio Times - the UK's leading listings magazine - but left in 2006 (after the birth of my daughter) to freelance. I write for national newspapers and consumer and specialist magazines including the Guardian, Express, Sunday Express, Sunday Mirror, Woman, The London Paper, Practical Parenting, Right Start, BBC Step Up, Radio Times and others.

I write on a range of different subjects and in a variety of different styles. I also do celebrity interviews.

I supply website content and am familiar with writing for SEO. I can turn fast, accurate and readable copy around on a tight deadline to your own specification.

I also do PR, and work across several different products and brands. I understand what makes a good eye-catching, selling phrase, and can provide press releases or other publicity literature to your requirements. I've had great success getting coverage for my clients in national, consumer and specialist magazines, and have a huge contact list of editors. I'll follow up any releases I send on your behalf with phone calls to the respective editors for opinion and coverage.

I write across a range of subjects from TV and radio entertainment, to employment, social issues, health, property and technology, but to date much of my writing has been on parenting. I write emotive first person pieces about my experiences of parenting, serious enquiring pieces on child health initiatives, informative comparison pieces giving parents choice on a range of subjects, and fun anecdotal pieces on the craziness that can ensue when kids are around.

I'll apply these styles to most subjects or any piece of copy you require.

I can work to brief and am happy to accept commissions, or I can submit ideas as you require. Contact me to discuss what I can do for you.
